Hello Everyone,
This is Faeja here, and I am super excited to share my very first post as a Design Team Member of
Swati Craft Corner.
Today I have tried my hands on lantern using the gorgeous papers from the Incredible India
patterned paper.
This paperpack is absolutely stunning with colourful prints and vibrant colors. Each and every paper
of this paper pack is colorful yet elegant and different. Perfect for festive season.
Diwali is a festival of lights and celebrations. It encourage us to spread the festive spirit among
our beloved once.
For making lantern I choose 2 different pattern paper.
For lantern- I select the colourful paper. it has Mandala print or I would say Rangoli type print.
For stand- I select purple and it has a touch of gold.
For base- I used yellow
Yellow is the colour of happiness, and optimism, of enlightenment and creativity and sunshine.
Material-
•12×12Incredible India paperback.
•co-ordinated Elements sheets
•Mountboard
•yellow base
•yellow butter paper
•mirror cardstock (for star)
•for decoration- flowers, golden stones, golden dotted chain .
Stand-
Measurement- 22×9 cm
firstly I cut 3 layers into pattern from mountboard and then I stick purple pattern paper on it. And
then I combine all the three layers to make it stand. For making it more attractive I cut a window
star shape and paste it on the front side of the stand. I also used co- ordinated Elements sheets.
Golden dotted chain is cherry on the top.
Lantern-
•measurement – 15×15 & 15×8 c.m.
Firstly I cut 4 window shape using mountboard and paste yellow base on it Then I used yellow
butter paper for the window and combine all the four cutouts and make it a box of lantern. The base
is ready. Later on I cut the same size pattern paper and paste it on it .To make it more elegant and
attractive I used the elements .
•For the lid I decide to make square steps design instead of giving triangle look. I used flowers and
golden half motis at every steps. Can be use anything as ler choice for decoration .
And Tadaaaaa….lantern is ready.
All the materials I used for my project is from swati craft Corner only.
Hope u guys like it. Do make it and don't forget to share your creativity with us.
